A Grill That Cooks Like New.

Request this service
What’s included

Done properly.

Every cookout leaves something behind. Grease drips into the firebox, carbon builds up on the grates and under the hood, and over time the grill heats unevenly, smokes more and starts to flavor the food in ways you didn't intend. Thoro Clean matches you with a vetted, insured local pro who takes the grill apart, cleans each part properly and puts it back together, so it's ready for the next meal.

  1. Grates, burners and flavor bars removed and degreased
  2. Firebox and hood interior scraped and cleaned
  3. Exterior wiped and polished
  4. Grill reassembled and checked
Also available
  • Deep cleaning for outdoor grills
Good to know

A deep clean or a quick brush?

Brushing the grates after you cook is a good habit, but it only reaches the surface. The grease and carbon that cause flare-ups, uneven heat and stale, smoky flavors collect where a brush can't go: under the flavor bars, around the burners, inside the hood and in the bottom of the firebox. A deep clean means taking those parts out and cleaning each one. It's the difference between a grill that looks clean and one that cooks clean. Heavy grease buildup can also catch fire, so a thorough cleaning is part of keeping the grill safe to use, not just good looking.

Timing

How often should you deep clean a grill?

Most people who grill regularly are well served by a deep clean once or twice a year: once at the start of grilling season, and once at the end before the grill sits for a while. If you cook outside most weeks, year round, every few months keeps grease from building up. A grill that's exposed to salt air, heavy pollen or a lot of weather may need it more often. Signs it's time: more flare-ups than usual, uneven heat, burners that won't light evenly, or smoke that tastes off. It pairs well with Backyard Ready or Spring Refresh, so the whole outdoor space gets done at once.

Questions

Good to know.

What kinds of grills do you clean?

Gas grills are the most common, and built-in or larger outdoor kitchen grills are quoted to size. Tell us what you have when you request your quote, and we'll confirm a local pro can take it on.

Do I need to be home?

No. As long as the grill is cool, the gas is off and your pro can reach it, you don't need to be there. You'll get photos when it's done.

Will cleaning fix a grill that heats unevenly?

Often it helps, because clogged burners and grease buildup are common causes. If your pro sees a part that's worn out or damaged, they'll point it out so you can decide what to do next.

Are the cleaning products safe to cook on afterward?

Your pro rinses and wipes down the cooking parts after degreasing. If you have questions about the products used, ask your pro on the day.

How long does it take?

A standard grill often takes an hour or two. Built-in or very dirty grills can take longer. Your quote confirms the time window.
