Paver cleaning
Pavers That Stay Clean, Tight and Sealed.
Request this serviceDone properly.
Pavers and concrete take a beating from sun, rain, tires and foot traffic. Over time the color fades, weeds push up through the joints, sand washes out and stains set in. Thoro Clean matches you with a vetted, insured local pro who restores the surface in the right order: clean first, then re-sand the joints, then seal. Book one step or the full restore.
- Surface cleaned before any sanding or sealing
- Polymeric sand swept into paver joints
- Sealer applied evenly across the area
- Drying time and care instructions shared after the visit
- Concrete and paver sealing
- Polymeric sanding for paver joints
Cleaning, sanding and sealing: what each step does
Cleaning removes the dirt, mildew and staining that dull the surface. On its own, it brings back a lot of color, but it also loosens sand in the joints. Polymeric sand is swept into those joints and then set, so it hardens in place. That helps keep pavers from shifting and makes it harder for weeds and ants to move in. Sealing is the final layer. It protects the surface from stains and weather, helps hold the joint sand in place and can deepen the color. Each step protects the one before it, which is why a full restore is done in that order. Concrete driveways, walkways and patios benefit from cleaning and sealing too, even without joints to fill.
How often should pavers be sealed?
Most paver and concrete surfaces do well with sealing every two to three years, with a cleaning in between as needed. Areas with heavy traffic, full sun, pool water or a lot of shade may need attention sooner. Good signs it's time: color has faded, water soaks in instead of beading, weeds are growing in the joints or sand has washed out. A cleaning on its own is often enough in the years you don't seal.
Simple, start to finish.

Good to know.
Why does my paver area need to dry before sealing?
Sealer needs a dry surface to bond properly. That's why the surface is cleaned first, and why irrigation should stay off around the visit. Your pro will confirm the timing for your project.
Will sealing make my pavers slippery?
Some sealers can change how a surface feels underfoot, especially around pools. Mention pool decks or steps when you request your quote so your pro can talk through the options.
How soon can I walk or drive on sealed pavers?
It depends on the sealer and the weather. Your pro shares drying time and care instructions after the visit. Plan to keep cars off longer than foot traffic.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as the area is clear, irrigation is off and we can reach an outside spigot. You'll get photos when it's done.
How long does it take?
A cleaning alone can often be finished in a day. A full clean, sand and seal may take more than one visit because the surface has to dry between steps. Your quote confirms the timing.
