Why shrink wrap instead of storage or tarps?

Moving every chair and lounger into storage takes staff hours and needs space many properties don't have. Tarps are quicker but they flap, tear and blow off in strong wind, and they trap water underneath. Shrink wrap is different. The crew groups items together, pads any sharp corners, drapes a heavy-duty plastic film over them and heats it so it shrinks tight around the shape. The result is a sealed, close-fitting cover with very little for the wind to catch.

Vents are added so moisture can escape, which helps prevent mold and mildew from forming underneath during a long off-season. It doesn't anchor furniture to the ground, so very light pieces should still be grouped against the house or a wall. When the season turns, the wrap comes off and the furniture is ready to set back out.

When should amenities be shrink wrapped?

Timing depends on why you're wrapping. For storm protection, most properties wrap ahead of storm season or when a storm is forecast, though booking before the season starts gives you the best choice of dates. For off-season protection, where winters are cold or snowy, wrapping usually happens in the fall once the pool closes, and the wrap stays on until spring. Some properties do both.
